Good News for U.S.-Madagascar Partnership in English Language Education
The U.S. Embassy is proud to partner with the Ministry of National Education and ELTA to invest in Madagascar's students and teachers.
ELTA Madagascar is pleased to share encouraging news for the advancement of English language education in Madagascar.
Today, U.S. Embassy Public Affairs Officer Craig Ferguson and representatives of the English Language Teachers Association of Madagascar (ELTA) met with the Minister of National Education, Sendra Nirina Rajaonarison, to strengthen and advance the partnership between the United States Embassy, the Ministry of National Education, and ELTA in the field of English language education.
This collaboration, which has been growing since 2018, now enters a new and promising phase. Concrete steps are being taken to support the revision of the national high school English curriculum through the English Language Specialist and English Language Fellow programs. These initiatives aim to contribute to the improvement of English teaching and learning across Madagascar, while supporting both students and teachers.
As part of this continued partnership, the U.S. Embassy will host an English Language Education Summit this month, with the support of the Regional English Language Office (RELO). This important event will provide opportunities for dialogue, collaboration, and professional development among key stakeholders in English language education.
This is only the beginning of a broader vision. Additional initiatives are being explored to expand English language opportunities throughout Madagascar and to further invest in the future of Malagasy learners and educators.
ELTA Madagascar is proud to be part of this meaningful partnership and remains committed to promoting quality English language education, supporting teachers, and creating opportunities for students across the country.
